Q: Did you always see yourself working in hospitality? Did you have any other dream jobs growing up?
A: I didn’t, I thought I might end up in architecture. I’ve always loved puzzles and building things. I was the kid stacking jelly and sugar packets at restaurants, always trying to design something from what was in front of me.
Q: What educational or work experiences led you to want to work in events?
A: Looking back, there were a few experiences that pushed me towards working in events. I grew up in the service industry and spent time on catering crews, which I really enjoyed because it gave me a behind-the-scenes look at events and the chance to work with all kinds of people. Another turning point came when I led a magazine campaign for a luxury retail boutique. I managed every detail from coordinating models to organizing the on-site shoot, and I loved the challenge of making sure everything ran smoothly. More recently, I had the chance to attend the 2024 Olympics in Paris and saw firsthand how powerful shared experiences can be. That was also when I knew I wanted to be a part of creating moments that bring people together.
Q: What is your favorite part about working for Corinthian Events?
A: My favorite part is the people and the company culture. The team is incredibly supportive and encourages personal growth by offering opportunities to learn from mistakes. They create a welcoming environment where everyone is empowered to try new things, receive constructive feedback, and become better as a team. y proudest achievements.
Q: What is something people might not know about you?
A: I am the middle child of three girls. Growing up in the middle, I’ve learned to be resourceful, diplomatic, and independent. I’ve also developed a strong ability to understand and balance different perspectives, which has made me a great listener and team player.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant or activity in Newport?
A: My favorite activity in Newport is watching the Polo matches in the summer. I grew up riding horses, so I love being around them, and the atmosphere at the games is always a blast.
Q: Where do you think you can see the best view of Newport?
A: Probably not the best view of Newport, but my favorite view is driving along Ocean Drive!
Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given, event related or not?
A: The best piece of advice I've ever received came from my dad. He told me to put my phone and headphones away when I’m in public because you never know who you could end up talking to. That really stuck with me. Being present and open to conversation has led me to some of the most meaningful connections, both personally and professionally.
Q: Can you share a favorite or most memorable moment from your events career so far?
A: One of my most memorable moments was from my very first event with Corinthian Events. A vendor I had worked closely with surprised me with a thoughtful, personal gift as a thank you for our collaboration. His excellent communication and positive attitude made him a joy to work with, and that gesture made me feel genuinely appreciated. It was such a meaningful welcome to the team and got me excited for the season ahead.
Q: What is an event theme or destination activity you would want to execute for a client?
A: A destination activity I would love to organize for a client is skydiving, but I recently learned that it’s not covered by our insurance (ha!). That said, I think an interactive art-themed event would be just as fun. I really enjoy hands-on creativity, so I’d love to give guests the chance to create their own masterpieces through a variety of art mediums like pottery, acrylic, watercolor. We could even do something like throwing darts at paint-filled balloons, just like in The Princess Diaries.
Q: Outside of work hours, what is something you enjoy doing?
A: I really love painting and drawing, and currently I’m teaching myself how to sew. When it’s warmer, you can find me outside; I love playing tennis, golf, and being on the water!
