Newbury Street is home to one of the most well-known stretches of shopping in the city. From Arlington to Massachusetts Avenue, Newbury Street offers eight blocks of designer shops, restaurants, cafés, florists, and more – on both sides of the street!

If we are looking for positive impacts of the COVID pandemic, one for Newbury Street is extended outdoor seating areas for many of the restaurants. Areas of the street that were previously reserved for parking are now partitioned off with outdoor walls and raised flooring complete with tables and chairs for outdoor dining.

This past Sunday, the entire street was shut down to vehicular traffic for the first of three “Open Newbury Street” events where the entire strip of shopping is transformed into a pedestrian-only walkway.

Newbury Street will be pedestrian-only the next two Sundays (August 22 nd & 29 th ) – Come visit the shops, eat at the restaurants and cafés, and enjoy the added street events and vendors!
