Everyone once and a while we have to plan an event for ourselves; we did just that at our summer outing last week. Something we look forward to every year. Per usual the day was planned by Director Tamara O'Malley and kept a secret until days before the event.
After a couple hours at our desks we departed for a fun-filled day. We were all gifted with Corinthian Events totes, we packed up and boarded the bus—ready for an adventure!
First Stop: Community Rowing. We partner with this group often when booking company-outings and team-building activities, but many of us had never participated before so it was exciting to try it firsthand.
The group was pre-divided into two teams and trust me, the competition started days before in the office. After some practice on the ergs, we hopped into our boats, were instructed on how to row in-sync and participated in 3 races—with one team breaking the tie and winning the last one (but only by a few inches!!).
After breaking a sweat, we gathered under the tent for lunch as a group while anticipating what could come next! We continued our day by refreshing our Boston-history with some history of the Charles River followed by a tour of Harvard Yard!
To finish off our fun-filled day we continued tradition with an evening on the water. Here we enjoyed food, drink, music and each other's company as the group expanded with plus ones.
We even had our own competition since the rowing races had us feeling competitive! Claudia has been deemed the arm-wrestling master—don't mess with her!
