Rhode Island may be the smallest state in size but when it comes to leadership, this little state has a huge innovator! Atrion, a progressive IT services firm, hosts an annual leadership symposium entitled the AlwaysOn Leadership Symposium (AOS), where TED-like talks inspire attendees to bring new ideas to transform their companies!
Atrion's 2016 AOS was held at the Rhode Island Convention Center (RICC) and although we are based in Boston, we handle events all over New England and beyond! At Corinthian Events we love logistics, and managing meetings are our specialty, so when Atrion called, we were so excited to jump right in.
Before we could get our feet wet we had to understand the needs of our client and what the goals for the event were. Using our wealth of knowledge and their initial direction, we created a proposal with all the elements to take their vision and bring it to life - of course with a few additions we dreamt up to bring it to another level! With the proposal reviewed and agreed upon we got to work creating a work back schedule. Our work back schedule is an indispensable guide leading up to the event, we map out the details; every item with timing on ordering and decisions to be made, so nothing is forgotten!
Curious what is involved with meeting management? Every client, company and event is different but to give you an idea...
For Atrion's AOS we:
- Managed the Venue
- Managed the Speakers
- Managed Registration and Event Logistics
- Managed Volunteers
- Managed Hotel Room Blocks
- Created and Called the Show
- Designed Floor Plans
- Strategically Determined Signage Needs
- Managed all Vendors including:
- Audio- Visual (AV)
- Food and Beverage
Constant communication ensured that new ideas were heard, decisions were made, and that the work- back schedule would be met. Managing meetings is all about details and communication - suffice to say, we got to know our Atrion contacts very well!
