If you've ever been to Nashville, Tennessee, you know it's all about bright lights and big voices. (If you haven't, we suggest you plan a trip ASAP!) Thus it made perfect sense that Lovelane Special Needs Horseback Riding Program's biennial bash, known for great food and tunes, celebrate Music Cit ith a honky tonk hoedown.

Arriving at a private property in Wayland, MA, guests were met with handcrafted cocktails, mouthwatering barbecue and fun lawn games. The outdoor space was reminiscent of a backyard cookout with red check tablecloths, sunflowers and camp candles topping tables. Thanks to Blue Ribbon's barbecue trailer, the smell of pit smoked pork shoulder filled the air. Guests looking for a beverage could visit hive, a re-purposed 1983 Airstream trailer that acts as a mobile event space and specializes in offering unique drinks using high quality ingredients. Adding to the ambiance, guitarist Fran Malva and classic rock band French Lick entertained attendees throughout the afternoon on an outdoor stage.

Inside the massive 22,000 square foot tent, activities were abound. 17 local restaurants and their celebrity chef counterparts served up Nashville themed bites featuring items like pulled chicken waffle tacos and bourbon roasted peaches with thyme shortcake. As you can imagine, it was all finger licking good! A central bar surrounded by four lighted columns complete with crystal beaded curtains and hanging guitars, paid tribute to the flashiness of Nashville's "Honky Tonk Highway". Of course, no Music City bar would be complete without live music! A unique stage in the middle of the bar allowed musicians to perform for guests from an ideal vantage point. Raised above guests' heads, "The Stage" took up a small footprint but created a big impact.

"Modern country singer, Houston Bernard performs on the central bar stage!"

Decor throughout the space perfectly complimented the southern theme. Tables were topped with glitzy linens, cowboy boot floral arrangements and miniature musical instruments. Over-sized, vintage country music posters and marquee signs hung overhead in the casino area where guests spent the evening laying craps, blackjack and roulette.

If all that wasn't enough, the evening culminated with an emotional program benefiting Lovelane followed by an incredible performance by .38 Special. After more than three decades together, .38 Special brought their signature blast of Southern Rock to the "Grand Ole Opry" stage. We couldn't have asked for a more explosive finale to cap off this amazing night!
