A Campaign for Governors Academy

The Governor's Academy, the oldest continuously operating boarding school in the United States and the home to more than 400 students from 23 states and 18 countries, also happens to be one of our Corinthian Events' Partner's alma mater.Courtney Church has fond memories of attending the boarding school in Byfield, MA and was excited and honored to be an integral part of planning this Capital Campaign Kickoff. Our team at Corinthian Events managed the logistics, food and beverage, décor and the AV, lighting and program. There was over 400 alumni, staff, parents and friends in attendance.

The school's gymnasium was converted into a beautiful venue. Utilizing long black drape rigged from above was important to visually divide the large space into 2 spaces. The floorplan is on the right, notice the 4 sets of tables placed in "X" patterns and the program tables are in the cocktail area where guests mingled on arrival during cocktail hour, then were ushered into the round tables area where the presentation took place. Following the presentation, guests moved back to the cocktail area for dinner stations, dessert and dancing!

The floorplan was carefully planned to include encourage mingling as well as offer many places to sit such as the acrylic ghost stools seen above.

Soft seating was also available throughout the space. Corners were transformed into lounge spaces and walls of drape created an intimate atmosphere.

Assorted red floral arraignments complemented the red linens.

Delectable passed appetizers included Asian Seared Tuna, Sweet Potato Grits Cake, and Petite Carrot Boxes.

Notice we designed the presentation area with a monochromatic feel, using chivari chairs that matched the linens. It was a very dramatic way to emphasize the school colors. The placement of the chairs, facing the stage, was a smart way to encourage guests to be attentive to the program as soon as they took their seats. Guests enjoyed easy-to-munch snacks including middle eastern inspired cuisine during the program; pita, olives and hummus as well as chicken skewers - yum!

The program was moving, and the two screens flanking the stage provided an excellent view for all.

Following the program, guests enjoyed live music, food stations and dessert! A great time was had by all and it was a special honor to work with our Partner, Courtney Church's alma mater.
